For the first time ever, I made a recording of myself, while I tried a brand new product. This brought back some pretty unwelcome flash backs of high school English class, and the video productions we had to make. I am not sure how I feel about being on camera, but in the same sense, I always enjoy the occasional video from other bloggers. It gives you a look at the person behind the blog.
For my first video blog, I decided to review the rainbow highlighter by Ulta, that has been sitting in my makeup drawer. It was an impulse buy, as I was shopping online at Ulta.com, and I figured, why not. I had seen the rainbow trend sweeping across the internet, and figured it might be a fun thing to try. It’s gorgeous in person, but didn’t look like a practical “everyday” highlighter. It sat in my makeup drawer for a little while.
You can click the link above to be taken to the Ulta site, and purchase it. As of this moment, it says the product is sold out, but there other options on Ulta.com. (Wet N Wild, Makeup Revolution, Lottie London etc.) The other names mentioned are less expensive than the Ulta brand by a few dollars, but I haven’t tried them yet, so I can’t speak on their vividness.
My opinion on the Ulta brand is WORTH IT. Probably not for the makeup look I was wearing, but overall the product was worth the money, and looked really pretty. I did manage to calm some of the shine down with a setting powder, because I had errands to run after the video, and I didn’t want to blind people with my awesome unicorn shine.
I hope you enjoyed my short little video. Be kind, it was my first time ever recording myself. I think even if it was my 100th time on video, I would still be that awkward. It is just the way I am. 🙂 The photos included below are the products I used for my makeup look, and then the overall makeup look. The makeup photos are from after I lessened the shine on my face, so the highlighter is not nearly as vivid as it was in the video.
Have you ever tried a rainbow highlighter before? If so, was it the same one, or a different one? Let me know!
